Exchange with Japan
As part of a BRIDGE Fellowship funded by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Dr. Saskia Schimmel visited several research groups and universities in Japan, with the aim of developing and identifying long-term collaboration opportunities. She was hosted by Prof. Hiroshi Amano at Nagoya University. She also gave a scientific presentation at the JSAP Autumn Meeting at Meijo University and an orientation lecture for students at Mie University. Another trip took her to the research group of S.F. Chichibu at Tohoku University. In addition, she participated in an interdisciplinary outreach presentation by scientists on the stage of the German Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka (pictured).
